Idaho Fish and Game

Southeast Deer Tags Sold Out

idfg-staff
Nonresident tags to hunt deer in game management units 75, 76, 77 and 78 in southeast Idaho sold out in a little more than four hours December 1, the first day they were available. The tags have sold out quickly each year since the Fish and Game Commission placed a 1,200 tag cap on southeast deer tags. Deer hunting in the southeast corner of Idaho has traditionally been popular among nonresidents. Some tags are returned to Fish and Game every year, however, and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to hunters who have placed their names on a waiting list. So far, there are about 150 names on the waiting list. Hunters may add their names to that list by calling Fish and Game's licensing division at 208-334-3717.
