Mainstem Clearwater River from Cherrylane Bridge upstream to Orofino Bridge will close at the end of fishing hours on June 15

The Idaho Fish and Game's fisheries managers have determined that by June 15, the sport fishery harvest objectives for the Mainstem Clearwater River from Cherrylane Bridge upstream to Orofino Bridge will be met and therefore Chinook fishing will end in that section at the end of fishing hours on June 15 in order to preserve fishing opportunities in other river sections.

Angling success in the Mainstem Clearwater River from Cherrylane Bridge upstream to Orofino Bridge is expected to account for about  20 percent of the entire harvest share for the Clearwater. Because of a low return of jacks, Fish and Game will not keep the season open to allow harvest of jacks, as has been done in years past.
