Marijuana Patches Found In Clark Fork River Delta

idfg-mdemick
During vegetation planting and monitoring efforts in the Clark Fork River Delta in the spring and summer of 2014, several patches of marijuana plants were discovered growing on islands. The patches were reported to authorities and were removed. More illegal marijuana patches were found in 2015. These patches were recently destroyed. The Clark Fork River delta islands are popular with canoeists, kayakers and other recreationists, and it is an important hunting area in the fall. Due to the fact that grow patches are sometimes protected by the growers, recreationists heading to the islands are advised to stay clear of patches of marijuana plants they may encounter. Individuals in the area who see illegal patches of marijuana are encouraged to contact a local law enforcement agency. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game will continue to work with authorities to remove any additional marijuana plants found on the delta islands.
