UPDATE: Loff's Bay Access Site reopens July 13 at 2 p.m.
The Loff's Bay boat launch and parking area will close July 9 until further notice in order to facilitate wreckage recovery following a plane collision on Coeur d’Alene Lake.
On July 5, two planes collided with each other then crashed in to Coeur d’Alene Lake near Powderhorn Bay. More information is available through the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.
The closure will extend through the weekend and into the week of July 13. An announcement will follow when the access site reopens.
The Loff's Bay boat launch is jointly managed by F&G and Kootenai County Parks and Waterways. An alternative public boat launch is available to the north in Mica Bay.
