Idaho Fish and Game

Limits Eliminated on Five Magic Valley Waters

idfg-staff
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has eliminated bag, possession and size limits for fish on five fishing waters in the Magic Valley Region. Those waters are Little Camas Reservoir in Elmore County and Magic and Fish Creek reservoirs in Blaine County, Fish Creek below the reservoir, Thorn Creek Reservoir in Gooding County and Lava Lake in Blaine County. The order is based on notification from the Bureau of Fisheries that these waters are expected to be out of water by mid summer. The rainbow trout stocked in the reservoirs and other game fish will likely die as water levels drop to very low levels. Because of the time, expense and labor involved, and because they are almost never cost effective, and due to lack of other suitable water available to stock, department fish salvage operations will be avoided on most waters. Therefore, the department is allowing anglers to harvest as many fish as possible. Certain restrictions still apply at this time. All fishing must be done by conventional rod and reel; a valid Idaho fishing license is required to take fish. This policyÁXOrder 01-17ão is in effect from May 4 through November 30, 2001. For further information contact the Magic Valley Regional Fish and Game Office, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 324-4359.
