Idaho Fish and Game

Licenses for Disabled Made More Available

idfg-staff
Licenses for disabled hunters and anglers will now be available at selected vendors or by mailing or visiting any Idaho Fish and Game Regional office or Headquarters. Since special rates for the disabled were established for Fish and Game licenses, buyers have been required to purchase them at a Fish and Game office. In an effort to make purchasing more convenient, licenses will be available at selected vendors who agree to sell them. Buyers may also purchase these disabled licenses at Fish and Game offices or mail their request to Fish and Game offices. Letters are going out to holders of these special licenses now to explain the new purchasing options. The letters include a list of vendors selling the licenses and note that more vendors are being sought to provide the service more widely throughout Idaho. To obtain a disabled license through the mail or at a vendor, the buyer needs:
  • A photocopy of a current year's award statement showing proof of receiving Social Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Income (SSDI).
  • A current year's letter from the Veteran's Administration showing the percentage of disability if you are a service-connected veteran, a nonservice disconnected veteran, or a service-connected veteran with 40 percent disability or greater.
  • A photocopy of your valid driver's license or, if you do not drive, three different suitable forms of proof of residency. These three forms must be in your name and may be:
    1. Rent or mortgage receipts dated six months prior to current date.
    2. Utility bills dated six months prior to current date. Proof of voter registration in the state of Idaho. An Idaho I.D. card.
    3. Payment of $4.50 may be made with a check, cashier's check or a money order. Fish and Game will mail the requested documents promptly.
Mail can be addressed to Idaho Fish and Game, P.O. Box 25, Boise, Idaho 83707 or to any of the seven regional offices. First time buyers can call regional offices or headquarters at 334-3717 for cooperating vendors near them.
