Under a rule adopted by the Fish and Game Commission that is now in effect, youth hunters who 8 or 9 years old and hold a Hunting Passport can purchase turkey tags to participate in over-the-counter turkey hunts during the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

Both the hunting passport and turkey tags can be purchased online at https://idfg.huntfishidaho.net/login, or over the phone by calling (800) 554-8685. Fish and Game public offices are closed through at least April 15, consistent with the Governor’s statewide, stay-at-home order to aid in reducing the spread of Covid-19 in our community.

Idaho’s Hunting Passport in a component of Fish and Game’s mentored hunting program. It allows any first-time hunter, resident or nonresident, over the age of 8, to try hunting for one year with an adult mentor without first having to complete an Idaho hunter education course.
