Hunter Education Class Registration Scheduled

idfg-staff
Although hunting seasons remain several months away, spring hunter education and bowhunter education classes are now forming. Because of high interest and limited space, participants are urged to register during upcoming registration sessions. On Wednesday, January 23, Nampa/Caldwell area hunter education class registration will be held at Fish & Game's Southwest Region office, 3101 S. Powerline Road in Nampa. Register for classes from 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. On Wednesday, January 30, Boise/Meridian area hunter education class registration will be held at the Hunter Education Center, 109 W. 44th Street in Garden City. Register for classes from 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. By state law, persons born after January 1, 1975 must attend and successfully complete a hunter education course before purchasing an Idaho hunting license. Hunter education course fees are $8.00 per person and participants must be at least 11 years of age to attend. "Parents do not need to bring their children to the registration," Fish and Game wildlife educator Dan Papp said. "For registration purposes, we will need the child's date of birth, social security number, address and phone number." Although not required, parents are encouraged to attend classes with their children and participate in the entire program. For more information, contact the Fish and Game Southwest Region office, 465-8465.
