Fish Limits Removed From Little Camas, Magic, Fish Creek And Thorn Creek Reservoirs

idfg-staff
The limits on fish have been removed from several reservoirs in the Magic Region by special order from the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. Effective Friday, May 4, 2001, all limits on all species of fish are removed from the following waters in south central Idaho: Little Camas Reservoir in Elmore County; Magic and Fish Creek Reservoirs in Blaine County and Fish Creek below the dam; Lava Lake in Blaine County; and Thorn Creek Reservoir in Gooding County. This special order removes all bag and possession limits on all species in these waters, and removes any size restrictions. The Department's Bureau of Fisheries expects these reservoirs to be out of water by mid summer. Gamefish will likely die as water levels drop and water temperatures increase. The Department of Fish and Game will not attempt salvage operations to collect fish and move them to other waters, because there are no other places to put them this year. The Department wants anglers to harvest as many of these fish as possible. Certain restrictions still apply at this time. All fishing must be done by conventional rod and reel; a valid Idaho fishing license is required to take fish. This policy is in effect from May 4 through November 30, 2001. For further information contact the Magic Valley Regional Fish and Game Office, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 324-4359.
