Fish and Game Seeks Info on Bighorn Sightings

idfg-estansbury
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game wants information on any sightings of bighorn sheep in or near the South Hills in Cassia County. Recently, bighorn sheep have been observed moving south from their usual range. These movements are likely due to the past summer's Minidoka Complex fires, which burned more than 90,000 acres and started near Big Cottonwood Creek, where the bighorn sheep typically reside. Fish and Game biologists want to monitor the movements of this relatively small herd of bighorn sheep to assess the effects of the fire on this population. To report a sighting, please contact the wildlife staff in the Jerome Fish and Game office at 208-324-4359.
