Big game winter feeding efforts continue in the Garden Valley /Lowman area. With several weeks of winter remaining, Fish and Game is looking for volunteers to help with the feeding effort.
"We want to invite anyone who would like to help out with the effort to give us a call," Fish and game landowner/sportsman coordinator John Nagel said. "Any length of service would be appreciated, from one day to several days or weeks." To volunteer for the big game winter feeding effort in the Garden Valley/Lowman area, contact Fish and Game's Southwest region office at 465-8465.
"The feed sites have been divided into three feed routes to reduce the work load," Nagel explained. "It will take a volunteer anywhere from three to five hours to drive a feed route and refill feed bunks if needed."
Heavy snow conditions prompted the winter feeding effort which commenced on December 20 at more than 30 feed sites from Garden Valley to Lowman and beyond. "We'll continue to feed as long as conditions warrant," Nagel said.
