Mule Deer Foundation receives grant to help fund shared coordinator position with F&G
Monday, May 11, 2020 - 4:35 PM MDTOn April 30, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation announced the 2020 round of funding for the Improving Habitat Quality in Western Big Game Winter Range and Migration Corridors program. To conserve migration corridors and winter range for elk, mule deer and pronghorn, 15 new grants totaling $3.1 million were awarded, with more than $300,000 going to Idaho.

Netting non-native walleye aims to protect existing Lake Pend Oreille fisheries

Nets are set deep enough they won’t affect boating, but anglers should stay away from nets to avoid entangling and losing fishing gear. The goal of the netting is to keep walleye at a low enough density that they do not jeopardize the world-class fishery in Lake Pend Oreille.

Monday, March 23, 2020 - 12:49 PM MDTIn February, Panhandle Fish and Game biologists completed an aerial survey of mountain goats in Unit 1. A total of 57 goats were counted in the Selkirk Mountains, up from 34 goats seen during the last survey in 2001.
