F&G commission approves changes to nonresident participation in general season deer and elk hunts
Friday, November 20, 2020 - 11:24 AM MSTThe Idaho Fish and Game Commission on Nov. 20 approved changes to nonresident participation in general season deer and elk hunts to address concerns from residents about hunter congestion in some areas. Starting 2021, nonresident hunters in most general season elk and deer hunts will be limited to 10 or 15 percent of the total hunters in each elk zone or deer units based on hunter participation estimates averaged over the last five years. The new limits do not apply to capped elk zones.

F&G offices reopened for license services on Monday, May 18
Monday, May 18, 2020 - 12:30 PM MDTIdaho Fish and Game offices around the state reopened to the public Monday, May 18 for license services, having been closed to the public since March 27 due to COVID-19. Although open, Fish and Game continues to encourage use of online purchase (idfg.idaho.gov/buy-online) and telesales (1-800-554-8685) to meet licensing needs.

Thursday, April 16, 2020 - 11:49 AM MDTEvery year, a few hunters return and exchange their general season elk tag. Often the returned tags are highly sought-after tags, so Fish and Game has identified a more consistent and transparent way of handling them.

License sales at MK Nature Center in Boise are by appointment only

Fish and Game public offices are closed except by appointment at least through April 15 in accordance with the Governor’s statewide, stay-at-home order to aid in reducing the spread of Covid-19 in our community.
