Meridian angler sets record with huge Snake River grass carp
Monday, October 18, 2021 - 1:26 PM MDTCongratulations to Cris Endicott of Meridian for setting a new certified state record for grass carp. Endicott caught the monster carp on Oct. 10 using a twin-tail bass jig while prospecting the Snake River for smallmouth bass.

Boise Angler Sets Rod/Reel Carp Record
Wednesday, May 5, 2021 - 5:16 PM MDTCongratulations to Henry Charlier of Boise on landing a 34-pound common carp from the Snake River. Henry wrangled the lunker carp while fishing the stretch below CJ Strike Reservoir on May 3, 2021. The fish beats the previously-held record of 30.4 pounds, set by Alexander Veenstra last December.

Lake Cascade produces another state record perch
Thursday, March 11, 2021 - 11:11 AM MSTAdam Mann of Mosinee, Wisconsin, landed the latest record yellow perch from Lake Cascade. After being weighed locally on a certified scale and inspected by a Fish and Game biologist, Mann was awarded a new certified-weight state record for his 3.22-pound perch that was 16.25-inches long.

Meridian angler lands new record Lahontan cutthroat trout
Saturday, December 19, 2020 - 11:37 AM MSTJordan Rodriguez of Meridian decided to grab his ice auger and hit the road in search of some winter trout fishing. While fishing Grasmere Reservoir on December 12, he landed a 20-inch, 2.27-pound Lahontan cutthroat trout, which was big enough to set a new certified weight record.

Becker Pond produces state record tiger trout
Friday, December 18, 2020 - 2:36 PM MSTCongratulations to Gatlynn Mayes for hooking into this huge, 4.8-pound tiger trout from Becker Pond in Idaho Falls and setting the new certified weight record for the species. Mayes brought in the 24-inch long tiger on Dec. 16 to be weighed and measured after a day of ice fishing with his father.

Friday, August 14, 2020 - 8:31 AM MDTCongratulations to Sam Hix of Bellaire, Texas on setting a new catch-and-release state record Yellowstone cutthroat trout. Hix was fishing the Snake River on Aug. 7 when he landed the monster 30.5-inch cutthroat. After measuring the fish and taking a quick photograph, the fish was released to swim another day.

Joseph caught the remarkable trout on July 20th using a wet fly (rigged on spinning tackle). After a quick measurement and photo, he released the 19.7" golden trout to claim a new catch/release record.

Eagle angler lands new catch-and-release state record black crappie
Tuesday, August 4, 2020 - 11:20 AM MDTCongratulations to Jon Urban of Eagle on a new catch/release record black crappie from Crane Creek Reservoir. Urban was fishing the reservoir on July 26, when he landed the 17-inch lunker panfish. After a quick measurement and photo, Jon released the fish to fight another day.
