About the position

The Harvest Monitoring Project is seeking 10 technicians from mid-August 2020 through the end of October 2020 (some positions will last approximately 5 months from date of hire) to monitor steelhead and fall Chinook Salmon sport fisheries. These are full time (40+ hours/week) non-benefited positions. Weekend work is required and some holiday work is required. Some positions may require camping or paid hotel lodging.

General Information: 
Incumbents must be able to work a variable schedule under adverse weather conditions, traverse steep uneven ground, and lift and carry/pack up to 50 lbs. for short distances.
Responsibilities: 
With or without reasonable accommodations, incumbent must be able to perform creel surveys which includes interviewing anglers collecting fishery data, handling large harvested fish, and driving multiple hours continuously.
Qualifications: 
Demonstrated ability to handle responsibility and work independently. The incumbents must possess good attention to detail, organizational skills, good hand writing, and quick basic math calculations. This position involves contacting and interviewing anglers, good communication skills are required. Course work in a Natural Resource/Biological Science is preferred but not mandatory. Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license
