About the position

The Grace Fish Hatchery is seeking one (1) temporary Fisheries Technician (non-benefited) to assist in daily hatchery operations and fish transport during the 2019 fall season.

General Information: 
Incumbents must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., work in adverse weather condition, and able to operate UTVs. Onsite housing provided if necessary.
Weekend & holiday rotation work required; work 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities: 
Perform routine fish culture duties at a sport-fish production and conservation species fish hatchery. Responsibilities include, but not limited to: assist with trapping & spawning of Bonneville Cutthroat Trout, weighing fish feed & feeding fish, cleaning rearing vessels, maintaining grounds & equipment, operating fish loading & transport equipment, stocking fish.
Qualifications: 
Applicants must be able to interact with the public in a professional and positive manner, work independently and with a team, and follow set protocols on hatchery operations. Applicants should be detail oriented, self-motivated, and safety conscious. Previous work experience and/or education in Aquaculture, Natural Resources or Biological Science preferred but not mandatory.
