About the position

The Sawtooth Fish Hatchery is seeking one (1) Maintenance Craftsman (benefited) to assist with the maintenance and repair of facilities, grounds, and fish production systems at the hatchery in Stanley.

Dates Needed:  This is a year-round, part-time (3 days/week) position starting as soon as possible.

General Information: 
With or without reasonable accommodations, incumbents must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 60 pounds and work in extreme weather conditions. If needed, dormitory style housing will be provided free of charge. Incumbents will generally work 24 hours per week. Work hours are generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday, however the exact work schedule is negotiable and may vary from week to week based on workload and other conditions.
Responsibilities: 
Perform semi-skilled duties under the supervision of the Utility Craftsman in the maintenance and repair of facilities, grounds, and fish production systems at the Sawtooth Fish Hatchery. Typical duties include: electrical (maintains panels, circuits, wiring, receptacles, switches), plumbing (maintains and repairs faucets, sinks, drains, toilets, tubs; assists with the installation and remodeling of plumbing systems), carpentry (builds and repairs partitions and walls, installs windows, door frames), grounds maintenance (mowing, watering, and snow removal), and operating equipment such as mowers, forklifts, tractors, snowplows, and power tools.
Qualifications: 
Applicants must be able to work independently and follow set protocols. Applicants must be well organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and safety conscious. Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license.

Maintenance Craftsman related experience preferred but not required. Applicant must be able to operate, or be willing to learn to operate equipment such as forklift, tractor, front end loader, skid steer loader, snow plow, and power tools.
