About the position

The Eagle Fish Health Laboratory is accepting applications for a Laboratory Technician through July 13, 2018 through July 27, 2018 or until the position is filled. The position is temporary and limited to 1385 hours/year.

The position involves processing fish tissue samples for pathogen testing. Primary responsibilities include weighing, diluting, homogenizing, and centrifuging large numbers of kidney tissue samples. Other responsibilities include washing glassware, sterilizing trash and labware, and other routine laboratory tasks as needed. The Bio-Aide may occasionally be called upon to assist with sample collection in the field.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must have basic mathematic and organizational skills, and the ability to use balances, centrifuges, pipettes, and other general laboratory equipment properly. Previous laboratory experience is desirable.
