About the position

Eagle Fish Hatchery is seeking 3 Biological Aides (non-benefited) to assist with Sockeye Salmon fish culture and hatchery related activities.

Dates Needed: July 16, 2018 through December 14, 2018 (not to exceed 5 months).

General Information: 
With or without reasonable accommodations, incumbents must be able to stand for long periods of time, safely drive for multiple hours per shift, and work in adverse weather conditions.
Incumbents will work 40 hours per week. Typical work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Work schedules may include occasional field activities resulting in staying overnight and occasional weekend work rotations.
Responsibilities: 
Weighing fish feed and feeding fish, cleaning and caring for fish in rearing vessels, assist in trapping and transporting anadromous Sockeye Salmon. Sockeye Salmon spawning, egg husbandry, general fish culture, maintaining grounds and equipment, cleaning office and hatchery facilities.
Qualifications: 
Demonstrated ability to handle responsibility and work independently. Course work in a Natural Resource/Biological Science is strongly preferred, but not mandatory. Previous fish hatchery experience a plus but not required. Candidate must be able to work in extreme conditions in an isolated area and be able to lift 50 lbs.
