Successful applicant will be part of a two person crew interviewing salmon anglers to collect harvest and fish data. Must be able to enter large amounts of data into an MS ACCESS database.

This position may end earlier than the 1st week in August depending on the salmon run. Additional work at Rapid River Hatchery or the Regional office MAY be available. No guarantees!

Responsibilities: 
Assist regional fisheries staff conducting Chinook Salmon harvest surveys on the Little Salmon River near Riggins, Idaho. Successful applicant will be part of a two person crew interviewing salmon anglers to collect harvest and fish data. Must be able to enter large amounts of data into an MS ACCESS database.
Qualifications: 
Must have a minimum of one year of college studies with interest in majoring in the natural resources field. Applicants should have some knowledge of life history, anatomy, ecology and identification of various fish species. This position involves walking up and down rocky, steep, slippery stream banks while carrying field equipment and working in all types of weather. The handling of dead and dying fish is required! Work week is 40 to 50 hours and five days a week including all weekend and holiday days. This position involves contacting and interviewing large numbers of angler each day, therefore good communication skills are a must. Must have valid driver’s license.
