About the position
Assist with multiple research projects aimed at restoring various fish populations in the Kootenai River in northern Idaho. Responsibilities may include hoopnet sampling for adult Burbot, PIT tagging Burbot, collecting genetic samples, installation and maintenance of remote PIT tag arrays in tributaries to the Kootenai River, sampling for sturgeon with setlines and by angling, maintaining a passive array of sonic telemetry receivers, gillnetting for juvenile sturgeon, night boat electrofishing, and maintaining equipment and boats. Positions require trailering and operating boats and working outside in all weather conditions.
Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Positions are non-benefitted, 40 hours per week, not to exceed 1385 total hours. Housing may be available at little or no cost.
Start and end dates are relatively flexible.
