About the position

The Rapid River Fish Hatchery is accepting applications for four (4) temporary Biological Aides (non-benefited) to perform duties associated with the care and rearing of Chinook salmon at an  Idaho Department of Fish and Game-operated fish hatchery. Applications will be accepted starting March 25, 2021 for four positions beginning in May and June, 2021. Start dates are flexible with individual positions filled corresponding with increasing workload. Duration is also flexible and appointments will be for up to five months.

General Information: 
With or without reasonable accommodation incumbents must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in and around water. Work may involve prolonged standing in all weather conditions. General work hours will be 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 07:00 AM to 04:00 PM. Weekend,, after hours, and overtime may be required. Housing is available
Routine duties will include but are not limited to: trapping and spawning adult salmon, salmon egg and juvenile salmon rearing, maintenance of facility and landscaping, and other tasks as assigned.
Must hold a valid driver’s license. Coursework in a Natural Resource/Biological Science curriculum is preferred, but not mandatory.
