About the position

The American Falls Fish Hatchery is seeking a benefited temporary Fisheries Biological Aide.

General Information: 

This position, with or without reasonable accommodations, requires standing and working in cold water and for up to eight hours per shift; lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds; and working in extreme weather conditions. Potential housing available.


Perform routine fish culture duties at a Rainbow Trout production hatchery. Responsibilities include weighing fish feed, feeding fish, cleaning, and caring for fish, maintaining grounds and equipment, assisting with fish stocking and other routine duties. Weekend work will be required.


College coursework in a Natural Resource/ Biological Science or related field beneficial, but not required. Previous hatchery experience beneficial, but not required. Applicant must be able to work independently and as a team. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to read, write, and compute simple math. Must have a valid driver's license.
