Customer Service Representative I

The Southwest Regional Office in Nampa, ID is seeking one (1) temporary Customer Service Representative (benefited) to work at the front-end office.

General Information: 
This is a year-round part-time (1385) Customer Service position that entails selling hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses and other items to the public. This position interprets and answers questions regarding the Department's rules and regulations. This position provides service to customers on the telephone and in person, both external and internal. Employees in this position will spend approximately 70% of their time greeting visitors and answering the telephone. Typically, office support tasks will comprise less than 30% of total work time.

This position will typically work Monday through Friday for 25 hours a week, however, some flexibility is a must in order to provide coverage during busy seasons. This position will work from the Fish and Game office in Nampa, ID.
Provide front-line customer service and multi-tasking functions that may include: greeting or screening visitors and callers; answering regulation, map and unit questions; selling hunting and fishing licenses, tag and permits; provide hunter education assistance; suggest information about other options and services; distribute booklets, brochures, maps, and other informational materials; assist customers with issues such as road kills, injured or orphaned animals, depredation problems, live traps, and pest advice; a willingness to handle harvested animals.
Performs a variety of office support functions such as producing labels, forms, and routine letters; verifying completeness of applications and forms; maintaining record systems by adding, deleting, or updating sensitive information.
Receives payment by cash, check or debit cards, as well as reconciling sales reports/deposits.
Responds in writing to requests for pertinent program information.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you must have experience:

Questioning customers to obtain detailed information in a business setting
Explaining policies, procedures, or rules
Independently handling complaints and upset individuals in a business setting
Answering a business telephone using knowledge of business telephone procedures and etiquette
Reviewing documents and records for accuracy and completeness
Accessing data using a computerized records system

Cash handling and cash register experience
Multi-line telephone experience
Ability to balance multiple priorities
Ability to handle dead or wounded animals
Willingness to work in a hunting, fishing, and trapping environment
