Incumbent must be able to sit for long periods of time within an office setting with or without reasonable accommodations and work 40 hours per week. Work hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities include good knowledge of the ESRI tool suite (ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online). Cartographic expertise is required to create hard copy and digital map products for use at IDFG regional buildings and public use. Knowledge of the Microsoft suite of tools is needed in order to collaborate and communicate with team members.
The applicant must be able to work independently with attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Understanding the principles of GIS and cartography and usage of the Microsoft suite - Outlook, Word, and Excel are required. College coursework toward a degree in Computer Science, GIS, Wildlife Management, other related areas of study, or equivalent knowledge typically gained through previous experience as a GIS technician is desirable.
