  • YOUTH HUNT: ONLY hunters 12-17 years of age with a valid license and tag may participate in this hunt.

  • Motorized Hunting Rule (MHR): Motorized vehicle use by all big game hunters is restricted to established roadways legally open to travel by full-sized automobiles. The motorized hunting rule applies only to big game animals, including moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goats, in designated units from August 30 through December 31. Area 3 seasons begin at one-half hour before sunrise on opening day. Daily bag limit 3 cocks and possesssion limit of 6 cocks. Limits on Fort Boise WMA (including Gold Island) in Canyon County, C.J. Strike WMA in Owyhee County, Birding Island segment of the Payette River WMA in Payette County and Montour Management Area in Gem County and Niagara Springs WMA in Gooding County REDUCED to a Daily Bag Limit of 2 cocks and a Possession Limit of 6 cocks after the first day of the season. Seasons begin in all WMAs in the Southwest Region at 10 a.m. and one-half hour before sunrise in the Magic Valley Region WMAs.
