Shooters may use any good condition .22 long rifle with any sight configuration, and spotting scopes are allowed. Ammunition types allowed include .22 rimfire short, long and long rifle.
These matches are typically a team sport, with a spotter advising the shooter of hits and misses. All shooting is done “off hand” and the shooter has ten minutes to knock down a bank of ten targets. Each participant shoots a 40-round match at these distances: 50 yards-chickens (off hand), 100 yards-pigs (prone w/cross sticks), 175 yards-turkeys (prone w/cross sticks), 200 yards-rams (prone w/cross sticks).
200-Yard .22 Long Rifle matches are held regularly on the second Saturday of each month beginning around noon. For more information, contact Darrell Burchfield 208-371-7905 firstname.lastname@example.org.
New shooters are always welcome at this event. Cost to participate is minimal ($15 for adults, $5 for youth). Spectators are also welcome at no cost
