F&G thanks all who assisted in record winter big game feeding

What an effort it was. During peak winter, Fish and Game staff and volunteers, in cooperation with many private landowners, operated 156 feeding sites that fed more than 13,000 deer, 12,000 elk and 200 pronghorn.

"The department staff sincerely thanks the hundreds of sportsmen volunteers and private landowners that allowed for the largest feeding program in recent history, and likely ever, to take place," assistant wildlife bureau chief Brad Compton said.

Winter feeding is winding down and most big game herds are returning to natural habitat as spring green up occurs and provides ample natural forage.
