The spawn take wrapped up this weekend and the fish trap is now closed. The final trap number was 5,005 Yellowstone Cutthroat. 3.2 million Cutthroat and over 900 thousand sterile hybrid eggs were taken this year. 55 students from North and South Fremont high schools and BYU/Idaho helped with the spawning operation this year. Numerous other volunteers assisted as well. The Henrys program could not operate without this large commitment from the public and we're appreciative.
Our annual gillnet survey for fish population trends will begin within days. This survey will take about 2 weeks to complete. Results will be forthcoming.
The season opener is May, 27th and we're certainly looking forward to it.
