Description: Ruffed Grouse are common in both the coniferous forest and the floodplain forest along BoundaryCreek. Small numbers of Wild Turkey occur throughout the year near the forested habitat on the western portion of the WMA. During April, surface water accumulations support thousands of migrating waterfowl, primarily Tundra Swan, Canada Goose, White-fronted Goose, Northern Pintail, and Mallard. By late May, Boundary Creek flows peak, filling the floodplain wetlands. Water levels remain high in the old Smith Creek channels, providing area for Wood Duck and Mallard broods. Nongame species frequently observed at the WMA include Red-tailed Hawk, Northern Harrier, Rough-legged Hawk, Great Horned
Owl, and Great Blue Heron.
