Highland Valley Road, archery range on Boise River WMA will be closed until May 3
Beginning April 30, Idaho Power will be working on powerlines on the Boise River Wildlife Management Area. The will delay the opening of its popular archery range and cause Highland Valley Road to be closed until Saturday, May 3, in the interest of public safety. Idaho Power will be putting up road closure signs on the morning of April 30.
May fish stocking forecast in the Magic Valley Region
Hatchery personnel from Fish and Game's Magic Valley Region will be stocking approximately 61,925 10-12" catchable sized rainbow trout in May. The stocking date and number of fish is approximate.
May fish stocking schedule for the Upper Snake
Fish and Game staff will be stocking 44,175 catchable-size (10 to 12 inch) rainbow trout at the following locations around the Upper Snake Region this May. Time to grab your family and head out for a fun-filled day of fishing!
Controlled hunt application period for deer, elk, pronghorn, swan and fall black bear and turkey runs May 1 through June 5
The application period for fall 2025 deer, elk, pronghorn, swan, fall black bear, and fall turkey controlled hunts begins May 1 and runs through June 5. Hunters can also apply for the first Super Hunt drawing through May 31.
May trout stocking schedule for the Clearwater Region
Fish and Game staff will be stocking nearly 43,00 catchable-size (10 to 12 inch) trout at the following locations across the Clearwater Region in May.
All fish stocked are rainbow trout, unless otherwise noted. Stocking of all waters is tentative and dependent on river/lake/pond conditions (angler safety concerns); dates may change due to weather or staffing constraints.
