After consultation with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) relocated an approximately 4-year-old male grizzly bear on July 2, 2025.

Effective at the end of fishing hours on July 2, Idaho Fish and Game officials are closing fishing for adult Chinook salmon on the South Fork Salmon River after the sport fishery met the allowable harvest share. Additionally, Chinook fishing for jacks only will be in effect from July 3-6.
If your 4th of July weekend involves a trip to your favorite lake or stream, be sure to remember your fishing gear. The stocking trucks will be bringing a total of 22,550 catchable-size (10 to 12 inch) trout to the following locations around the Upper Snake Region in July.
