Multi-species Baseline Initiative Project Report

idfg-mlucid

The Multi-species Baseline Initiative is a collaborative of organizations that monitor wildlife and micro-climate across the Idaho Panhandle and adjoining mountain ranges. From 2010-2014 we collected data on nearly 200 species at over 2,000 locations. Our surveys changed our understanding of how species including amphibians, forest carnivores, snails, and slugs are distributed across the landscape. This baseline information was critical to developing State Wildlife Action Plan species conservation actions and will serve as the beginning of a long term multi-taxa monitoring program.
